Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Procurement is responsible for developing and leading the organisation’s strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management functions. This role ensures the availability of goods and services required for business operations while optimising costs, reducing risks, and maintaining supplier quality and performance. The Director of Procurement is responsible for risk management, and data-driven decision-making within the function and demands commercial insight, and operational understanding to manage diverse procurement categories and ensure cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and quality across the supply base.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM CPSM, or APICS CPIM preferred.
- Experience in complex operational environments
- Minimum 7 years in a senior procurement leadership role, preferably in an operational or service-driven environment.
- Experience managing multi-category procurement across goods, services, logistics, and capital projects.
- Proven track record in contract negotiations, supplier management, and cost reduction.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accountable for the Company’s responsible sourcing policy.
- Provide leadership and development to the Procurement function.
- Define and implement procurement policies and sourcing strategies that deliver value, efficiency, and alignment with UBTC’s priorities.
- Establish and manage a robust supplier management framework, including evaluation, onboarding, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee vendor selection, onboarding, and contract management, ensuring service quality, risk mitigation, and commercial compliance.
- Identify savings opportunities and improve procurement processes to enhance cost-effectiveness across fleet, infrastructure, technology, and corporate spend.
- Partner with Project Delivery, Operations, and Finance teams to procure critical assets and services to support fleet upgrades, service expansion or infrastructure projects.
- Lead procurement planning processes, ensuring timely and accurate forecasting of requirements across all categories.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure delivery of services and goods to agreed performance standards.
- Be responsible for contractual and financial monitoring of our relationships with suppliers.
