Full Description

We’re looking for a Dry Dock Trainee to support our Dry Dock Refit Site Manager to provide support at UBTC’s Dry Dock facilities at Tilbury to ensure a safe and effective working environment.

Our Dry Dock Trainee will assist with the welding, mechanical, painting, and electrical trades in moving equipment, preparation of work areas, cleaning, and other duties.

You’ll undertake driving duties and be responsible for deliveries/collection of equipment and movement of personnel between UBTC facilities and contractor’s premises.

Responsible for the implementation of the stock control system at Tilbury stores, you’ll book in and issue stock from storage, whilst maintaining all areas including the shed any outside areas.

You’ll assist and support external contractors working on vessels or conducting site maintenance as directed by the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager or their deputy.

You’ll ensure any work carried out is compliant with UBTC’s Safety Policies, Statutory regulations and provide feedback to the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager to ensure continuous improvements in standards, efficiency, and safety.

We’re looking for someone who holds a current and clean driving licence (c1) with relevant experience working in a medium to heavy industrial environment.

Experience in managing databases and budgets is essential to manage our stock control system and experience in heavy lifting operations is desirable.

You’ll have an organised approach to work with high attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritise a high-volume workload

You’ll also be a team player, who wants to learn and is able to take on feedback in order to develop their career.

We’ll give you all the training you need regarding our systems as well as a thorough induction on how the operations at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers work, so you will be set up for success.

Where: You’ll work between our Dry Dock facilities at Tilbury and our Engineering facilities at Trinity Buoy Wharf Pier, Poplar, London E14 0JY.
