Job Description

The Port of London Authority (PLA) is responsible for 95 miles of the River Thames from the Estuary to Teddington Lock in West London. We work to keep river users safe, protect and enhance the environment and promote the use of the river for trade and travel.

The PLA is seeking a General Foreman to undertake maintenance work on its assets including revetment, step maintenance and vegetation control along the PLA-owned riverbank.

You will be responsible for the supervision of the Upriver Maintenance team to ensure that projects are delivered safely, effectively and on time. A team player with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels.

The successful candidate will be time served or have a HNC or HND in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years site experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry. Must hold at least a CITB SSSTS certificate and be a CSCS card holder. Marine/coastal and groundworks experience is desirable, with CPCS plant qualifications being an advantage.
