Job Description
The Port of London Authority (PLA) is responsible for 95 miles of the River Thames from the Estuary to Teddington Lock in West London. We work to keep river users safe, protect and enhance the environment and promote the use of the river for trade and travel.
We are seeking a Machine Operator to undertake maintenance work on the PLA assets including revetment, step maintenance and vegetation control along the PLA owned riverbank.
You will be responsible for the care of the plant which will include daily plant inspection and checks, fuelling and basic maintenance of the plant.  You will be a team player with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels and ensure that projects are delivered safely, effectively and on time.  You will also be required to deputise in the absence of the Skilled Operative.
The successful candidate will have significant site experience within the construction industry with an emphasis of groundworks and civil engineering.  Must hold a CPCS trained operator card or equivalent for a range of machines (e.g. excavator, roller and dumper) and be a CSCS card holder.
