Uber Boat by Thames Clippers (UBTC) are looking for a Risk, Safety and Compliance Manager to support our Head of Risk, Safety and Compliance – DP in engendering a safety culture throughout the business.

You will regularly review the effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring compliance with the ISM & HSCC & HSE codes ensuring all incidents and near miss reports are investigated and closed in a timely manner.

Whilst managing the ships certification, you’ll ensure our vessels are compliant with any safety and compliance related requirements.

You will manage the company’s ISO14001 certification, ensuring compliance with our Environmental Management System and monitor environmental and safety protection measures.

You will deputise as DP as required and ensure the maintenance of all risk and safety management systems and to ensure legal and regulatory compliance across the business.

We are looking for someone to positively enable and continually enhance risk awareness to ensure a ‘safety first’ culture across the business and lead the internal internal ISM/ISO auditing team

You’ll be an experienced Marine professional in either Deck or Engineering, holding a Boat Masters Licence or equivalent / higher COC with a track record of auditing internally under the ISM.

Being qualified as a designated person is essential along with the ability to train in a classroom style environment or vocational surrounding.

Paying attention to detail, you’ll report and follow up on any issues arising from audits or inspections carried out.

We are looking for something with a positive attitude and a team player who enjoys working in a high-achieving environment.

We’ll give you all the training you need regarding our systems as well as a thorough induction on how we work at Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, so you will be set up for success.

When: We are looking for you to start in May 2023 and will begin conducting interviews at the end of March/beginning of April.

Where: You’ll be based at our offices at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river on our staff boat, from North Greenwich tube. We offer flexible start and end times and welcome flexible working conversations.
