Cory is one of the UK’s leading resource management, recycling, and energy recovery companies. We operate one of the largest energy from waste facilities in the country, located on the banks of the River Thames in London. With a second facility under construction and expansions in our waste transfer business, you will play a key role in our future success.
We are currently recruiting for the Riverside Jetty and Logistics Manager, who will be based at Riverside. The role will manage the Riverside Jetty and Tilbury operations (including all plant and equipment at both locations) to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements at all times. They will also develop and audit environmental and operational procedures associated with Riverside and Tilbury.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the health, safety and security of the site
- Ensuring the sites are compliant with environmental legislation
- Managing the process of received and transfer of waste
- Using and maintaining plant, equipment and vehicles
- Managing finance and budgets
- Supervising operation
- Managing all internal and external communications and documentations
- Carrying out other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required
Job requirements
The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Holder of a supervisory/management qualification
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Operational knowledge, including vehicle, plant and equipment maintenance
- Oversight of logistics and transport
- Legislation, including environmental, health and safety and waste legislation
- Communication skills, including problem solving, negotiating and influencing
- Financial awareness
- Management skills including team management, delegation, supervision
- Holder of valid driving licence
