As Shipping Coordinator, working within the VTS Department, you will be responsible for the timely management and coordination of all future vessel movements into and out of the Port of London ensuring efficiency of port operations for our stakeholders.
You will deal on a daily basis with a diverse range of stakeholders including vessel agents, vessel masters, PLA pilots, leisure users, the general public, berth operators and emergency services. The Shipping Coordinator role provides an excellent foundation for progression into a VTS Officer position for the right candidate, as well as a ‘first step ashore’ for mariners wishing to move into the shore sector.
You will work a 35 hour week allocated to a rotating shift pattern with an overtime obligation according to operational demands.
You are required to have a Right to Work in UK, as currently the PLA is not a sponsor employer, therefore an offer of employment cannot be made unless you currently hold the rights to live and work in the UK.
